Copyright (DMCA)
Bandpass is run by Lunar Labs LLC. We respect copyright and respond to notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA, 17 U.S.C. § 512). This covers everything people post on Bandpass: shared samples, projects, loops, songs, recordings, pictures and comments.

To file a takedown notice
If you own the copyright to something on Bandpass, or act for the owner, send our agent a written notice with all of this:
- Your physical or electronic signature. Typing your full name is fine.
- The copyrighted work you say was infringed. If there are several, a list of them.
- The material you want taken down, with enough to let us find it: a link to it (a project's link looks like band-pass.com/id/…), or its name and the username of the person who posted it.
- Your name, address, phone number and email.
- This statement: "I have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
- This statement: "The information in this notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed."
For a shared sample, you can use the form in the app instead: tap ⋮ on the sample, then Report, then Own the copyright?
Only send a notice if you're sure. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly misstates that material is infringing can be liable for damages.
What happens next
We disable access to the material and tell the person who posted it. We may give them a copy of your notice, including your contact details.
If your material was taken down by mistake
If something you posted was taken down and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, send our agent a counter notice with all of this:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- What was taken down, and where it was on Bandpass before that.
- This statement: "I swear, under penalty of perjury, that I have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled."
- Your name, address and phone number, and this statement: "I consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which my address is located or, if my address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which Lunar Labs LLC may be found, and I will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice or their agent."
We send a copy of your counter notice, including your contact details, to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell our agent they have gone to court to keep the material down, we put it back 10 to 14 business days after we receive your counter notice.
Please send a counter notice about a shared sample within 14 days of being told about the complaint. After that the file may be deleted for good, and then it can't be put back.
Repeat infringers
A shared sample taken down for copyright is a strike on the account that shared it, and three strikes turn off sharing. A sample put back after a counter notice is not a strike. In appropriate circumstances, we close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright.
